Everyone is entitled to their own perspective. But when it comes to jazz, Steven Feifke and Lou Marini are getting everyone on the same page. Feifke, a GRAMMY® Award-winning pianist, composer, and arranger, and Marini, a legendary saxophonist, are teaming up with luxury eyewear brand SALT. Optics for the release of a new jazz album ‘Point of View’ on August 29th.
In the same way that jazz has permeated generations despite ever-changing trends in music and societal preferences, eyewear is a source of connection to others and authenticity to one’s self. We wear glasses because we both need to and want to, while both loving or hating it.
Marini and Feifke recorded the project live and rehearsal-free at Yamaha Studios in Midtown, Manhattan, a nod to their trust in one another as artists and the authenticity they bring to the deeply-rooted medium. The eclectic eight-track album includes several originals from each artist, such as “I Believe You” by Feifke and “Lost Waltz” by Marini.
Various SALT. looks are featured in the album’s imagery, supporting the narrative that unique perspectives can join to create lasting work. SALT.’s sophisticated, yet diverse range of styles pairs beautifully with the intricacies that Feifke and Marini embrace through their collaboration.
Worlds are colliding, one lens and one note at a time.
