MYKITA, the Berlin-founded independent eyewear house, has built an international reputation for its patented, engineering-led designs. First crossing the Atlantic to New York, the brand is now making its way further west and establishing its third US-based store. In celebration of MYKITA's arrival in Beverly Hills, founder and creative director Moritz Krueger welcomed guests from the fashion, entertainment and creative worlds to enjoy the new, thoughtfully curated-and-designed Rodeo Drive location.

The foundation of the brand’s success lies in its uniquely all-encompassing appeal: a destination offering eye examinations, health screenings, and optical services, all under one retail roof. The idea, in principle, being to equally streamline and romanticize the otherwise monotonous process of an eye check-up. Think precision lens fitting and individual adjustments, informed by visual performance but, more excitingly, personal style.

The company’s eye for detail and design doesn't start and end with eyewear. MYKITA has extended that same consideration to its interiors, transforming an optician’s appointment into a more rounded, luxurious experience. The space is a carefully curated landscape of polished neutrals, arched windows and a plush pink colorway, dripping in that distinctly LA aesthetic.

“We have developed a space designed to engage the senses in a deliberate way, elevating the experience beyond the transactional,” says MYKITA founder and creative director Moritz Krueger. “Every aspect of the new store concept has been considered accordingly, creating an atmosphere that feels restorative rather than overstimulating.”

Beyond eyesight, MYKITA leans into enhancing all the remaining senses, too. Thoughtfully engineered acoustics, a calming signature scent and even a house tea, (or glass of wine), all contribute to an experience that feels anything but incidental. No detail, no angle, has been overlooked, with MYKITA recruiting specialists across their respective fields to create something holistically memorable.

Who knows if ‘eye stylist’ is quite the right term, but MYKITA might just have discovered a world where your doctor and fashion advisor become one and the same. Perhaps the future of an optician’s appointment isn't simply about seeing better, but looking better, too.
