At the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2027 show, models appeared as if they had just come from sports practice and walked straight onto the runway—perhaps from swimming, a school gymnasium, or a tennis match abandoned halfway through. Their hair looked caught in motion—windswept, wispy, and deliberately disheveled. Their clothes mirrored this effect; nothing sat quite right. Dresses were crumpled, bras layered over shirts, and drawstrings slipped from waistbands to become ribbon-like adornments.
For Spring/Summer 2027, Miuccia Prada presented a wardrobe for someone perpetually in motion. The collection, titled “Here and Now,” was shown at the Palais D’Iéna, where the audience sat on bleachers reminiscent of a high-school gym or swim meet. Sportswear, preppy uniforms, eveningwear, and retro references were tossed together with the haphazardness of an adolescent in a hurry—but with the refined eye of a woman who is intentionally decisive.

The show opened on a deep purple runway with a girl in a checked blazer, plaid kilt skirt, and brown turtleneck with a flash of orange at the collar. Like a schoolgirl with no time to change, she was followed by models in pleated skirts, asymmetrical cropped long-sleeved shirts, and the fifth iteration of the New Balance x Miu Miu sneaker.
Then came Jamie Bell, reinforcing the sportswear theme. Athletic jerseys, tiny running shorts, and jeans layered over shorts gave models the look of athletes caught between the locker room and the street. Dresses were worn over swim shirts, sweatpants emerged from underneath, and wrapped tops revealed bare, toned torsos—exposing the mechanics of dressing and the undergarments beneath.

The collection was anchored by a palette of black, orange, chocolate brown, poolside blue, and cream. Retro ’60s prints made a comeback, while babydoll dresses, skirts, and bras sparkled with Miu Miu’s signature quirky crystals. Wrinkled silk dresses draped the body like crumpled paper, and every garment celebrated the beauty of movement—creases became marks of a life lived in action. Looks were paired with bug-eyed, wraparound glasses, giving the models a distinct Martian quality—a futuristic imposition upon familiar garments, mediated for the present.
Miuccia Prada brings sophistication to sportswear, showing that refinement is shaped by time and its natural imperfections. For Spring/Summer 2027, the body became a canvas where contrasts coexist, and polish is interrupted by a cultivated sense of urgency. The result was a cast of models drifting through a Parisian afternoon as though they had just arrived from school, the gym, a revelry, and another planet—all at once.
