Milan’s iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a 19th-century shopping arcade central to Italy’s designer shopping scene, has welcomed a Fratelli Prada expansion. The Prada Galleria project introduces shoppers to eight floors of luxury retail, exceptional hospitality, and historic art, all within walking distance of the iconic Milan Duomo.

The Prada house, originating back in 1913, couldn’t find a more fitting location than Milan’s 19th-century shopping arcade. Designed by architect Giuseppe Mengoni, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II officially opened its doors in 1877 and housed Prada’s first-ever point of sale. The Galleria’s grand architecture—marble floors, mosaics, and glass-domed ceilings—sets the perfect backdrop for Prada’s luxury storefront, complementing the brand’s long history of artistry and quality craftsmanship.

Miuccia Prada led the development of Prada’s Galleria, continuing to draw from the multifaceted inspirations foundational to Prada’s stature: art, architecture, cinema, culture, and sport. Prada’s enduring influence on the fashion scene is a product of its authentic collaborations, which evidently have allowed the brand to continue evolving into an eight-story complex.

The brand’s first permanent public exhibition offers an immersive exploration of Prada’s trajectory from its founding to the present day. In an unprecedented move, every origin, medium, and facet of the brand is brought together in a single location. By integrating Prada Donna, Prada Uomo, the Marchesi 1824, and the Osservatorio Fondazione Prada alongside Pradasphere, the brand has created an all-encompassing universe of luxury retail. Enhanced by invitation-only digital shopping and private hospitality, the Prada experience remains uniquely and unmistakably exclusive.
