At this point, Swarovski’s pieces are iconography. A Swarovski diamond is more than awe-inducing–it indexes a profound lineage of jewelry that transcends our understanding of it just being an impeccable piece. Swarovski is the convergence between time and fantasy, an institution where our jewel-ladden dreams materialize.
This fall, the jewelry brand just unveiled their newest Sublima Bag, and it is almost humbling in its grandeur. Swarovski used real Italian leather for the construction of the bag, and each piece is adorned with 4,850 of their iconic hand-applied crystals. The bags are available in either silver, pink, gold, or green, and there are only two hundred of them available for purchase.

Donning one of Swarovski’s crystals is a sacred thing in itself, but the Sublima Bag furthers their capacity to weave the interplay of light into their pieces. The result is an accessory that transcends decoration, inching us towards the grey area between reality and reverie.
Swarovski is both tradition and legend—forever underscored by their insurmountable contribution to jewelry yet perpetually evolving their modes of design. Swarovski makes it clear that tradition does not constitute stagnancy, it helps maintain precision and intention while providing room for innovation.
