Precision meets accuracy in the release of Maurice Lacroix’s latest time-telling device: the Aikonic Automatic 43mm. A continuation of the Swiss watch manufacturer’s most beloved collection, the Aikon, originally released in 2016, the Aikonic carries on the ethos of urbanity embedded in the series all while elevating its familial likeness and persistent pioneering artistry. The added -ic, which stands for “innovative craftsmanship” both literally and figuratively, is poised to take the watch to the next level through means of raw materials and avant-garde technology.

Masterfully sculpted at Maurice Lacroix’s manufacturing facility in Saignelégier, Switzerland—by incorporating several locally sourced elements—the newly released Aikonic watch features new ML100 ultra high precision caliber, a scratch-proof ceramic build and an unidirectional carbon dial, making each piece a distinctly personal creation. Beyond physical novelties, new materials were used for the production of both the dial and case, and the watch features a newly refined movement formula as well as a recently patented ML Easy Change system.
“The Aikon has been a huge success for our company and hopefully this will continue for many years to come,” Stéphane Waser, managing director of Maurice Lacroix, spoke on the excitement surrounding the release. “With the Aikonic, we wanted to demonstrate our know-how…the result is a highly specified model featuring new materials, new ideals and high level of finishing, all culminating in a watch with a distinctive flavor of the Jura that delivers accessible excellence.”

Available in four distinct bezel pigmentations—black, white, cobalt and turquoise—the timepiece unites itself with its stainless steel brushed and polished crown, its six, double-width arms, rubber strap, sapphire glass, and its glossy ceramic cover, offered on every reliable face. Intended for those who value getting it right, Maurice Lacroix’s latest offering reaffirms the Swiss house’s commitment to telling time and to valued craftsmanship.
