Life imitates art. We create to express, to immerse, to escape; we decorate ourselves in uniquely personal garments that allow us to paint a picture different from the rest. At the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s 14th Annual Art+Film Gala, the intersection of creative mediums was celebrated in a way as to recognize each type of artist as their own, but also the inherent connection that lies amongst.
In partnership with Gucci, the evening honored artist Mary Corse and filmmaker Ryan Coogler, two California natives who have created works larger than themselves and proved to be true visionaries in their fields. Gala co-chairs LACMA trustee Eva Chow, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gucci Artistic Director Demna, and Gucci President and CEO Francesca Bellettini staged a worthy celebration of art, in all its forms, and the role it plays in shaping cultural change and discourse.

The Italian luxury fashion house dressed many of the night’s attendees, including both honorees Ryan Coogler and Mary Corse, Elle Fanning, Cindy Crawford, Alex Consani, Demi Moore, Kaia Gerber, Finneas O’Connell, and Nadia Lee Cohen. Guests enjoyed dinner by Chef David Shim of Simon Kim’s COTE New York followed by a performance from Doja Cat.
Hollywood is big, but the impact of artistry is bigger.
