DITA Eyewear has unveiled a commemorative collection of sunglass frames honoring Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. On the cusp of Marylin’s 100th and Elvis’ 90th birthdays, the MM.100 (Marilyn) and GRANDE-DECADE (Elvis) materialize their undeniable allure into wearable pieces of art. Through means of Japanese engineering, these reimagined works take the classic silhouettes of Marilyn’s cat eyes and Elvis’ aviators and transform them into sleek regalia that reflect the depths of pop-culture. Known for breaking down the barriers of optical design, DITA hones in on the dramatic flair of the iconic profiles to bring a modern element to the quintessential styles of the past.

As said best by Marilyn, diamonds are a girl’s best friend. This iconic phrase is fully represented in the MM.100 model’s wirecore, handcrafted with lush Japanese acetate, which is intended to mirror the look of the gems. Marilyn’s timelessness is captured by DITA’s easily recognizable, glamorous cat-eyes, encapsulating the spirit of her beauty in the frame.

In contrast, the electrifying presence of rock n’ roll legend Elvis Presley inspired the GRAND-DECADE frame, relying on an oversized aviator form composed of titanium, enamel and acetate. Like Elvis, the GRAND-DECADE has an appeal that spans across genres and generations, serving as a testament to the worldwide influence of the performer.

The MM.100 frame has been adapted into a multitude of colorways, varying from neutral tones to a striking marble of red and pink. The GRAND-DECADE is available in a range of gold, black and silver combinations, with one style in particular appearing in a beautiful plum shade.
