At the heart of nearly every new creation is convergence. Nothing comes from nothing, and nowhere is that more true than in Miami, a city built on the intersection of cultures, ideas, and aesthetics.
Every year in Florida, artists and art-lovers alike from across the world gather in Miami Beach for Miami Art Week, the city’s yearly contemporary art fair. This year, a new event celebrating art, literature, and design is set to unfold, bringing together new audiences and conversations. It’s a reminder that creativity doesn’t exist in a vacuum, rather, it grows stronger in dialogue, in the shared hum of discovery that fills the city each December.

This year, Design Hotels will bring a bookshop concept by Mexico City-based creative studio Casa Bosques to Miami Beach for a month-long literary and art pop-up at The Shelborne By Proper in South Beach, By Proper’s latest property and the first member of Design Hotels in Miami. The pop-up will begin on December 3, coinciding with the early days of Miami Art Week. By merging Casa Bosques’ thoughtful approach to curation with Design Hotels’ global design ethos, the collaboration underscores a shared appreciation for spaces that tell stories.

The bookshop will showcase a selection of curated international titles in art, design, travel, and hospitality. Among these titles are the first copies of Designed To Stay, Design Hotels’ latest book detailing their impressive portfolio, complete with vivid imagery and thoughtful essays by global creatives. Designed to Stay invites readers to slow down, to see travel and design not just as aesthetics, but as a way of understanding the world and one another. The book will be available for all to buy beginning in January 2026.

Celebrating the launch of Designed to Stay, the bookshop will host a program of talks, readings, and installations, all rooted in design, art, and travel, aimed to cultivate cultural curiosity, wondering, and connection. The event is free and open to all, encouraging public participation in this debate and discussion. In a week defined by visual spectacle, Casa Bosques and Design Hotels are set to offer a space for contemplation and celebration.
