Denim Tears announces the opening of its first ever ‘African Diaspora Goods’ flagship store in New York City on March 15th. African Diaspora Goods will function as a cultural hub, expanding Denim Tears narrative storytelling on the Black diaspora. Denim Tears, under the visionary guidance of founder Tremaine Emory and the celebrated multidisciplinary artist Theaster Gates, embarks on a mission to weave the rich tapestry of Blackness into the fabric of our collective consciousness.

The space is far more than a store. It's a cultural epicenter where history and modernity converge. By integrating Gates' extensive artistic oeuvre, which seeks to demystify the complexities of Black identity for the public, with a curated selection of over 1,500 publications exploring the Arts of Africa, Amid the allure of seasonal collections, visitors are invited to embark on immersive experience through the visual and performative cultures of Sub-Saharan Africa's indigenous peoples.
