As dahlias and celosia blossom underfoot in the Hudson Valley, Collina Strada presents their Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Detour. Alongside a performance by Carly Rae Jepsen, art, fashion, and nature blur together. At Storm King Art Center, an open-air art museum with sculptures neighboring trees, the art of fashion melds with the technique of sculpture and the movement of a landscape.

Within the collection, the fluid lines of the pieces mirror the natural environment displayed and protected at Storm King. Just as the Hudson River flows in both directions, pushing and pulling, the designs allow the wearer to move naturally. Straight lines are rejected in favor of the ever-shifting motions of plants and tributaries. Feathers and ruffles elicit the complex decoration of the native birds, while draping creates volume that moves with the wind. 

The collection also pulls inspiration directly from Storm King, with its massive works of art exposed to the open sky. Steel and marble twist into a path through the landscape, reflections of the world around them. Similarly, the collection morphs distinct periods of fashion into singular looks, bridging the centuries between chivalric romances and recent counterculture aesthetics. Distorting the boundary between nature, history, and fashion, the designs emerge as reminders of the growth from a metamorphosis.
