In a fashion nothing short of theatrical, Church’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection made its debut this June at the Piccolo Teatro Studio Melato in Milan. Keeping part of its maiden name per se, having undergone a rebirth in 1984 after being established as the Teatro Fossati upon its formation in 1859, the Piccolo Teatro Studio Melato was an exemplary place to showcase the new footwear. A private cocktail event attended by brand ambassador Theo James and actors among the likes of British actress and director Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Italian actor Eduardo Scarpetta, French actor William Abadie and British actor Ed Speleers, was an element of the daytime presentation.

Continuing to be a piece worth swooning over since 1929, Church’s core character, the Shanghai, is making its comeback. Known in the late twenties for its unique combination of materials, fringing and broguing, the Shanghai is a relic of Church’s history. Much like the Piccolo Teatro Studio Melato, the Shanghai is receiving its own rebirth, one that is lightweight despite its distinct profile, fit for the warmth of a summer’s day. These new renditions provide optimal comfort with their soft assembly and soles padded in leather.

Opposing that of the classic Shanghai, the British Spring collection, crafted exclusively in the UK, aims to condense a vibrant English summer into a sleek, walkable wearable. Comparable to the Shanghai though the Derby styles and suede moc toes in this series utilize Goodyear 2.0 construction to prioritize comfort during all hours of the day.

Culminating with the Crown collection, deep burgundy, blue and green hues infuse a sense of regality into the prominent British craftsmanship that shapes each model. Quality and elegance are a guarantee seeing that this collection is crafted entirely by hand from natural white “crust” leather.

Sophistication and comfort seamlessly cross paths in Church’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, finding an intersection between redefining footwear whilst honoring their heritage.
