Selkie unveiled its Spring-Summer 2026 collection, aptly titled “Return to Innocence,” at the Beverly Hills Hotel’s Rodeo Ballroom. Designer Kimberley Gordon embraces the shaping of girlhood through fantasy and media, referencing both 80s and 90s culture. Among the attendees, notable guests included Rowan Blanchard, Langley Fox, Avalon Lurks, Marla Sokoloff, Kate Bowman, Romy Flores, Niko Rubio, and Alia Penner

A magnified Hollywood period fantasy world, prairie dresses, corsets, and various gowns hit the runway. Featuring Selkie’s signature silhouette and hyper-feminine allure, gowns featured petticoats, crinolines, and bustles. Adding a cinematic romance and adolescent fantasy, ruffles, floral wallpaper print, and a pale color palette featuring hues of blue, white, and pink. Looks were adorned with stockings, teddy bear details, chokers, and a variety of hats. Continuing the dreamlike, fictitious Hollywood trope, men donning suspenders and wellies carried models down the runway, evoking the damsel-in-distress archetype.

Harkening back to the 90s cultural landscape, the event sponsored by Urban Decay, with makeup artist Alex French, added further nostalgia to looks. Using the 90’s supermodel glamour as a template, French paired matted skin with smoky eyes and nude lips, creating a balance of a polished, natural look.

For Selkie’s SS26 collection, designer Gordon reframes the concept of girlhood and the cultural influences that influenced it.  Each look conjures a dreamy collision of nostalgia and modernity, reflecting on how women worked to be able to live on their own accord and paved the way for the younger generation of women to define themselves beyond traditional expectations and embrace an individual sense of self.
