Employing oil paints to depict the skies, seas, and trees, inviting the viewer to reflect on their personal memories and perception, Pierre Rioufol is a multidisciplinary artist who has created garments, paintings, jewelry, carpets, and music. The French artist is bringing his personal vision to the forefront of the Parisian art scene, staging his first exhibition, Clairières dans le Ciel (Clearings in the Sky) to the Atelier 13 Sévigné in the historic Marais district.
Born in France, Rioufol began his artistic journey in 2010 as a designer of leather stage pieces for esteemed musicians such as Lana del Rey, Gala, and La Femme. He also began experimenting with singing and songwriting with the band Poudre Noire. Since 2021, Rioufol has primarily focused on oil painting, capturing movement from moving vehicles.

Taking inspiration from impressionism, Rioufol’s portrayal of landscapes goes beyond just a representation of the physical world; they are gateways to self-reflection. A crucial component of Rioufol’s artistic narrative is the depiction of light. Throughout the exhibition, the portrayal of light guides the viewers' emotional temperature. His depiction of tranquil landscapes juxtaposed with urban light encapsulates our contemporary existence.
With light and motion remaining central to his artistic narrative, Rioufol’s exhibition is a celebration of light, memory, and perception, as he navigates the relationship between nature and urban life.
