In celebration of his latest exhibition, Empress of Night, hosted by David Zwirner, Marcel Dzama is collaborating with apparel brand HOSH to unveil a limited-edition t-shirt. While HOSH is known to promote Native and Indigenous artists through unique graphic pieces, this pairing with Dzama is expected, as he has been a long-time friend of the brand. Tom Tarica, co-founder of HOSH, designed this tee in tandem with Dzama to reflect the moon motifs seen throughout Dzama’s work. This exclusive tee was produced in a small batch of only 75, each signed by Dzama himself, and made available only through David Zwirner's online retailer, PLATFORM

Dzama’s latest collection, Empress of Night, is a collection of recent works that suggest hope and resilience, even in the dark. There are strong suggestions of resistance to authoritarian entities, juxtaposed with scenic nightscapes featuring stars and celestial images. With Dzama known for working into the late hours, this collection represents the nocturne he is, as he famously says himself, “I do my best work when it’s a full moon”.

Joining David Zwirner in 1998, Empress of Night would be Dzama’s fifteenth solo exhibition with the gallery. This exhibit is on view through August 8th in Los Angeles.
