Over the past 62 years, Pirelli has produced 53 Pirelli Calendars by 43 photographers, a distinctive cultural and creative investment that sets the global tire company apart. This year, Sølve Sundsbø brought the 2027 Pirelli Calendar to life along with Avani Rai, a Mumbai-based filmmaker and photographer, and her father, renowned photographer Raghu Rai.
The collection centers on India, bringing together culture and color in a vibrant, layered tribute to its heritage and people. The subjects span Indian artists, actors, models, and authors—figures from a wide range of cultural scenes. It also marks the first calendar made in collaboration between three photographers.

The images feature actresses Aditi Rao Hydari, Avantika Vandanapu, and Freida Pinto; models Lakshmi Menon and Bhavitha Mandava; TV host Padma Lakshmi; viral poet Rupi Kaur; and Rai herself, photographed by Sundsbø.
Sundsbø, who photographed the 2026 Pirelli Calendar, returns to Asia this time, with Avani carrying on her father’s legacy after his passing in April. The Norwegian photographer, Sundsbø, approaches with humility, working from the vantage point of an outsider looking in, documenting the people rather than claiming to capture the essence of place. The Rais’ contribution is the opposite, offering an intricate rendering of history and memory: Raghu’s historical photographs of India layered with Avani’s modern ones, juxtaposing past and present and drawing an enduring connection between them.
