Graffiti Don Alec Monopoly Kicks Off Art Basel Miami Beach with TAG Heuer

by Flaunt Intern

One year after being proclaimed Tag Heuer's Art Provacateur, Alec Monopoly kicked off Art Basel Miami Beach with a live art party takeover. Last night (Dec. 6) at the Swiss brand's Miami boutique, Alec Monopoly painted 300 watch straps to hundreds of guests' delight. These straps are for the lucky few that'll get their hands on the limited edition Connected Modular 45—the artist's collaboration piece with the brand. “It’s exciting to celebrate the occasion with new artwork that depicts both my love of timepieces and the vibrant energy of South Beach," said Monopoly.

Today, the graffiti virtuoso scaled the 40 foot wall on the front of the Fontainebleau Hotel, marking it with the Tag Heuer logo with his one of a kind flair. Kilian Muller, President of TAG Heuer North America, stated, “We are proud to welcome Alec Monopoly to Miami for Art Basel. Alec shares TAG Heuer’s determination to push boundaries and his Art Takeover of the Fontainebleau Hotel reflects his willingness to conquer any challenge – even a 40 foot wall!”

Check out his artwork above or in person on display through the end of this week.
