Newly formed M.O.T.H.E.R. debuts their self-titled EP, breaking away from the fixed nature of musical identities and living fluidly as a rebellious, ever-evolving project.
The project’s forerunner is British musician Robbie Furze, known for The Big Pink and Panic DHH. In a mélange of collaborators, contributors, and old friends, M.O.T.H.E.R. exists as an ecosystem, rooted in the persistence of constant change and adaptation. And as Furze shares, “responds and adapts to what’s happening in the moment…"
M.O.T.H.E.R. embraces the beginning of open collaboration guided by the creative history of musical icons N.E.R.D., UNKLE, and Massive Attack. Future projects aim to grow more extrinsically with new voices, lineups, and stylistic direction. Furze reflects on its inception, saying, "This EP came from losing my mother, and everything around it grew out of that, a band of brothers coming together. The next release will be a completely different color and approach.”

Wilfully rousing and resounding, the four-track EP, launched via Fullaway, features contributions from Jamie T and The Kills’ Jamie Hince. Each anthem echoes the musical instinct of artists’ pasts, and amplifies harmonious reinvention. With a seamless blend of pop and sonic reformation, Furze strikes a balance that is both smooth and daring, and unafraid of risks.
The lead track, “MY LOVE,” a diaspora of psychedelic 90s rock, is the true heart of the EP and is accompanied by a music video directed by Madrid-based AI visual artist, YZA Voku. It reveals itself as a soulful brew and heartbeat of pain and rejoice, and the love that exists in between. Melodically sung as a hymn, “MY LOVE” reads as a love story, depicted from the concurrent events of the loss of Furze’s mother and the birth of his daughter. The track is gritty, raw, and embracing of love’s tenaciousness and its unyielding presence through loss and life. Furze shares, “‘MY LOVE’ faces the cracks head-on yet celebrates what endures… Even as things fall, some love stands unbroken, and it’s worth rejoicing.”
