Time is playful. Whether worn around your neck, on your wrist, in your pocket, as a charm on a handbag, or displayed on your desk, Swiss watch brands Swatch and Audemars Piguet are disrupting the worlds of haute horlogerie and pop culture with their latest collaboration. The collection, titled Royal Pop, is a mélange of Audemars Piguet’s legendary Royal Oak line and Swatch’s iconic POP watches from the 1980s.

A vibrant collection of eight Bioceramic pocket watches, Royal Pop draws inspiration from the exuberance of the Pop Art movement, where elements of pop culture are transformed into vivid works of art. Bursting with color, joy, and energy, the unconventional design reimagines how a watch can be worn, encouraging the wearer to break from tradition. Each piece is paired with a removable stand and a calfskin lanyard—available in three lengths—granting playful versatility as a necklace, bag charm, or classic pocket watch. The collection comes in two distinct styles: the Lépine, with a crown positioned at 12 o’clock and a minimalist two-hand display, and the Savonnette, featuring a crown at 3 o’clock and a seconds subdial at 6 o’clock.

The Royal Pop features Swatch's SISTEM51 movement, now containing 15 active patents, a 90-hour power reserve, and an anti-magnetic Nivachron™ balance spring developed in collaboration with Audemars Piguet—all partially visible through a transparent sapphire caseback. Each of the eight models pays homage to the enduring legacy of the Royal Oak, featuring the recognizable octagonal bezel with eight hexagonal screws and the signature “Petite Tapisserie” dial pattern. 

Emitting personality with every detail, the watches are available in colorways of pink, navy, lime, white, black, green, blue, and powder blue, with contrasting bezels and lanyards to ensure each watch truly pops. Additional features include Super-LumiNova® for nighttime readability, a Bioceramic case, crown, and lanyard attachments, along with a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal for lasting durability.

The Royal Pop collection embodies a joie de vivre and breaks conventional barriers in watchmaking. Launching exclusively at selected Swatch boutiques starting on May 16, 2026, this collaboration marks a historic moment in horology, uniting two Swiss legends in a celebration of creativity and culture.
