Continuing its storied history as a meeting ground for creatives, the Hotel Chelsea plays host to director Nicolas Winding Refn and game auteur Hideo Kojima’s exhibition, “Satellites II.” Presented as part of Prada Mode’s fourteenth iteration of their cultural series, the exhibition explores love, language, and creativity through the lens of friendship between the two artists.

Coinciding with the Tribeca Festival, Prada Mode New York expands on Refn and Kojima’s previous exhibition, “Satellites,” which was shown at Prada Aoyama Tokyo in 2025. “Satellites II” transforms the grounds of the Hotel Chelsea into immersive installations that examine human connection across cultures, languages, and space. Moving between public and intimate settings within the hotel, select rooms initially serve as studios for micro television broadcasts accessible only to exclusive guests, before being transformed into art installations for public viewing. Other areas of the hotel will further explore Refn and Kojima’s dialogue, resulting in an extraterrestrial journey. Extending beyond the hotel, the Prada Mode Channel—curated in collaboration with Mikael Bertelsen—offers broadcasts featuring a variety of programs, including talk shows and horoscopes.

The first day commenced with conversations titled “Arrogance of Youth” and “Artists We Love,” featuring Sophie Thatcher, Abel Ferrara, Nicolas Winding Refn, and Hideo Kojima. Later, performances by artists such as The Velveteers and Lydia Lunch took place, along with workshops and a celebratory cocktail party at Katz’s Delicatessen, featuring DJ sets from Grandmaster Flash, Justin Strauss, and Papi Juice.

While the first two days cater to exclusive guests in the form of a private members’ club at the hotel, Prada Mode will open to the public from June 5–7, with additional programming including an installation at the Prada Broadway Epicenter, screenings at the Angelika Film Center, artist conversations, and special food events. Uniting luminaries and international audiences, Prada Mode’s past iterations have appeared in cities such as Miami, London, Paris, Dubai, and Tokyo.
