As the days begin to extend and the air grows humid, summer awakens from its annual nap. With the craving to build sandcastles on the beach and peel oranges in the park, nostalgia is at its pinnacle. In congruence with the warm season, French label Maje debutes ‘Vacanze sulla Costa Italiana’ with Spanish creative Blanca Miró. By its translation, A Summer on the Italian Coast, this new release is vibrant, elegant, and deeply rooted in wistful thinking.

Founder and artistic director of Maje, Judith Milgrom, is a strong believer in jovial pursuits, reflecting the brand’s cheerful and carefree spirit. Milgrom founded Maje in 1998 as a service for women, inspiring confidence in the act of dressing. As her intention, the brand is made for “Women who constantly change. Who like to be elegant but who won’t let others stop them from being who they are."
In a recognition of their shared vision, Milgrom works alongside Miró, fashion and design connoisseur, and shares in its inception, “We created a wardrobe that prioritizes color, energy, and summer vibes. Blanca's bold approach paired seamlessly with Maje's spirit, resulting in a collection that feels warm, dynamic, and effortlessly chic.” As the duo connects through their aspirations for the intersection of femininity and style, ‘Vacanze sulla Costa Italiana’ becomes the perfect blend of sleek, 1990s Italian minimalism and the suppleness of womanhood in the modern era.

Mediterranean light inspires reds, greens, yellows, and blues, as the apparel’s palette echoes an Italian sorbet dripping under the sun. In reference to her successful partnership with Miró, Milgrom shares, “We both gravitated towards vivid Mediterranean colors and a vibrant summer aesthetic that embodies freshness and positivity. The collection captures this essence with pieces that exude brightness, confidence, and a lively spirit.” Each piece is meant to be worn freely and personally, with a taste of minimalist intention. With that feeling of intimate purpose, wearers feel both beautiful and comfortable with ease. Miró shares, “I love when clothes feel a little undone in the right way: emotional, instinctive, never too perfect. This collection is really about that balance between bold Mediterranean color and effortless Italian elegance." Airy sets and playful accessories are crafted for timeless wearability, moving freely with ease for any time of day. Miró notes, “I wanted the collection to capture the feeling of a summer that unfolds very naturally–sun, movement, color, and the freedom to dress by instinct.” In its essence, ‘Vacanze sulla Costa Italiana’ fosters nostalgic yearning and radiant confidence. It re-ignites the joy of getting dressed, picking an outfit, and soaking in the sun.
