Going to the ballet is an experience, a moment in time where time, in fact, stops. As dancers seemingly effortlessly flit across the stage, the world around us takes a pause. There is a certain joy that a live ballet performance shares with us. The lights, the music, and the costumes all come together to create a piece of art that is fleeting and cannot be replicated.

Los Angeles Ballet in its 20th anniversary season, has announced a collaboration with ETRO to celebrate the company and give focus to the costumes on stage. LAB has announced their production titled 20 Years of Los Angeles Ballet, which will include George Balanchine’s Rubies, Hans van Manen’s Frank Bridge Variations, and Artistic Director Melissa Barak’s World Premiere piece, Wavelength

ETRO has partnered with LAB and closely collaborated with the company’s costume director, Chloée O’Hayon-Crosby, to bring new visions to life with Wavelength. With a focus on artistic expression and use of color, these costumes that have come out of LAB and ETRO’s collaboration emphasize hues of purple, yellow, orange, blue, and ETRO’s signature Paisley Baroque print.

Wavelength is the product of many artistic minds, including another collaboration between Barak and composer David Lawrence. This piece is being performed along with Rubies and Frank Bridge Variations, at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, from January 29th through January 31st.
