Founded in the Swiss town of Hölstein in 1904, Oris was named after its environment: a neighboring brook. Now, the beloved style, Divers Date, returns in an organic olive green shade that echoes the brand’s storied past, landing somewhere between vintage military equipment and natural, earthy moss.

Oris bolstered its name through ambitious, innovative manufacturing, paying homage to its climate and its people. In 1938, the company introduced its first pilot watch, distinguished by its large crown and Pointer Calendar function, which allowed adjustments through thick leather gloves. During the Second World War, with their output limited to roughly 200,000 pieces each year, Oris turned their ingenuity to alarm clocks, resulting in the eight-day power-reserve model. This same thoughtful, creative spirit informs Oris’ sustainability initiatives, which include an annual sustainability report that details its carbon footprint and progress on the Oris Emissions Reduction Program and led to its official climate neutrality in 2021.

A descendant of Oris’ original first dive-ready watch from 1965, the Divers Date presents something informed by profound technical and aesthetic intention. The watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel with a hard-wearing ceramic insert for measuring dive times, lumed hands and hour markers, and anti-corrosive stainless steel on the 39.00 mm case, bracelet, bezel, and screw-in crown. Additionally, its automatic mechanical movement—displayed through an exhibition case back—and impressive 200-meter water resistance nod to the watch’s Swiss-manufactured roots.

Arriving in an experimental color that conveys grounded sensibility, this latest release of the Divers Date speaks to Oris’ sustained commitment to creativity and consideration, recognizing how they build on one another.
