At Michael Rider’s Celine, clothing is not merely a covering; each garment has character, emotions, and a personality. For his third collection with the Parisian fashion house, Rider chose to emphasize his signature visual narrative by incorporating classic pieces with a bite. In contrast to his previous two collections, which featured a distinctly preppy aesthetic, this collection is sleeker, more fitted, and has a quirky flair.
Breaking from the years-long trend of a more relaxed silhouette, Rider's fall collection focuses on a slimmer fit. Tailored jackets, slim trousers, narrow shoulders, and fitted overcoats define the season. Although the collection was classically bourgeois, this was juxtaposed with flared hems, abnormally cropped jackets, and structured shoulders. Peppered throughout were pops of green, red, fuchsia, leopard print, and purple.

Looks were impeccably styled with derby hats, feather headpieces, scarves covering the face, and distinct bright white boots. Highlighting elegant guests with a uniquely stylish flair, the show featured Tracee Ellis Ross, Dan Levy, Natasha Lyonne, Naomi Watts, and Sarah Paulson.
For Michael Rider’s vision for Celine, confidence is at the forefront. Intuition triumphs all; it should be the feeling a garment provides rather than strategically putting pieces together. A tasteful blend of old and new, the collection celebrates both character and eccentricity.
