The place to be this Tuesday evening is a car custom shop in Culver City. Roadstarr Motorsports, to be exact. Maneuver through a parked G-Wagon, a Cybertruck, and a Bentley in the driveway and squirm your way through a cast iron gate that’s just ajar and you’ll make it to a patio full of cars worth more than the average person’s life insurance policy. At the center of this concrete miasma sits a white Lamborghini Urus getting a black wrap.

“Relationships are like fucking car wraps,” the customizer declares, not turning from the task at hand or directly addressing any of the handful of men who bobble in and around his periphery. “No matter how many you have… it’s all about smoothing the bubbles.” Genuine chuckles from all around. He’s a real charmer, Young Thug

The artist is here to customize the Urus in a three way collaboration between his streetwear brand Sp5der, Chrome Hearts, and Ch@mobile. Ch@mobile (pronounced: Chat mobile) is a 5g mobile carrier that evidently operates like every other mobile carrier save for the fact that Ch@mobile users are granted opportunities to win prizes. Sometimes, Ch@ users get free Sp5der merch. Sometimes they get access to exclusive streams and content from Thugger himself, streamers Adin Ross and N3on, or Peso Pluma. Soon, Ch@ users will get the opportunity to win a free Lamborghini, customized by the illustrious Young Thug right here on this Tuesday night in Culver City.

It’s been incredibly well documented, but still worth noting that Young Thug possesses a real gravitational pull—not just because of his size (very tall), but because of his will. He’s like a king. He sweeps his arm towards a guy crossing just out of eyesight and everyone swivels their necks. “This young man just entered the chat,” he asserts. Everyone nods. “Is that a Lamborghini sign?” he asks a man in the crowd, peering through the passenger side window at the Lamborghini logo near the dashboard. The man hurriedly affirms it. “I want every letter to be a different color,” Thug directs. If Thug wills it, it is done.

He actually is touching the car, too. We watch him pump the car jack. We watch him remove the tire (the caps, of course, will be Chrome Hearts). He gets in and out of the driver's seat and turns to us, earnestly. Someone will actually win this, he keeps repeating. It might be one of  you.

The first piece of information delivered to the customer on Ch@mobile’s website does not have anything remotely to do with the efficiency or quality of the carrier. It’s actually an image of the Lamborghini being customized right in front of my eyes. Underneath, it reads: We’re giving away a 1 of 1 custom Sp5der x Chrome Hearts Lamborghini. For Real.

I’m here to tell you that it happened. The vehicle is, indeed, For Real.

Here’s what Young Thug has to say about it:

When was the first time you drove a Lamborghini? How did it feel?
I don’t even remember the exact first time. I just remember that feeling. Lambos got a different energy. You hear it, you feel it. It makes you want to go.

Tell me about this collaboration. Why customize it this way?
I wanted it to feel crazy. Not just a regular Lambo with some logos on it. It had to feel like me, like Sp5der, like something you see one time and don’t forget.

What excites you about this specific piece?
It’s one of one. Nobody else gets it! That’s the whole point.

What do you hope the winner of this giveaway will do with the Lambo? What are they listening to in here?
Drive it. Don’t be scared of it. Play all my YSL artists' music!

What do you enjoy the most about your collaborations with Ch@mobile?
They let us have fun with it. We can come with an idea and really take it somewhere instead of doing the same thing everybody else is doing.

What does it mean to stay connected in this day and age?
You gotta be tapped in. Everything happens fast now. Fans know what’s going on before you even finish doing it.

How has your relationship with your fans changed over the past decade and a half? How has the internet shaped that type of community?
It’s way closer now. Back then, fans mostly got the music and whatever they saw in interviews. Now they see everything. They talk to you, talk about you, make videos, make memes. They’re part of it.

What interests you the most about the dawn of the streaming era? Do you think streamers are the future of entertainment?
For sure. Streaming is raw. Anything can happen. That’s why people like it. Kids don’t care if you’re a rapper, a streamer, an athlete. If you’re entertaining, they’re watching.

How has the Sp5der brand evolved since its inception? What’s next for the brand?
Sp5der just keeps getting bigger. It started as something I thought was hard, and now people made it their own. We’re gonna keep pushing it and keep doing stuff people don’t expect.

We’re in Los Angeles, the epicenter of car culture. What do you like about the city? What piques your interest?
LA has everything. Cars, clothes, music, crazy houses, crazy people. Everybody here trying to stand out and I love that.

When you create work, whether it's music, clothing, or this Lamborghini, how do you know when to let it go? At what point do you feel you’re able to relinquish control to the audience?
When it feel right, it’s done. I don’t like overthinking stuff. Once I put it out, it’s theirs. People will take it how they take it.
