Upon South Beach’s historic Washington Avenue, The Goodtime Hotel emerges as a serene blend of nostalgia and modern elegance. When in Miami, you could say you might just want a good time. Well-named, its corrugated facade and airy atrium entrance set the stage for an art-deco escape. But don't be fooled—the brainchild of David Grutman of Groot Hospitality and the iconic Pharrell Williams is all about contemporary style.

In collaboration with Michael D. Fascitelli and Eric Birnbaum of Imperial Companies, transformed an entire city block between 6th and 7th Streets into a vibrant celebration. The Goodtime Hotel, crafted by architect Morris Adjmi, designer Ken Fulk, and landscape architect Raymond Jungles, stands as a testament to their collective vision and creative intention.
“We wanted The Goodtime Hotel to impart a feeling of both revitalization and that rare, exciting thrill that takes over when you discover something special,” shares Pharrell of his intention. “It’s that adrenaline-fueled sensation of entering a whole new setting and a whole new mindset. This place provides a natural good time, for all who come through.”
And this rings true, as the hotel’s 266 rooms offer a tranquil escape, with most showcasing views of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Culinary delights await at Grutman’s Strawberry Moon, a sprawling 30,000-square-foot poolside retreat where Mediterranean fare and exquisite cocktails are served amidst an ambiance of warm sentiments. Poolside, listen to perfect summer DJs; and even make it in time for their Summer Pool Party bash, which I thoroughly enjoyed watching as bottle service came out every 20 minutes to the dot. And then the The Library, a room adorned in soft peach tones and natural oak, serves as a versatile space for enjoying coffee, cocktails, or casual business meetings and where I found haven from the Miami heat. There's also an invigorating gym, equipped with MyBeast and Peloton machines, offers a space for focused workouts. Not to mention that just steps from the lobby is carefully selected array of retail experiences. Among them, Pure Green serves fresh cold-pressed juices and smoothies, Vilebrequin showcases luxury swimwear and resort wear, Vintage Frames offers vintage sunglasses and jewelry, and F45 Hiit Training provides high-intensity fitness.

Grutman shares, "My first hotel needed to break the mold." Together they redefine Miami Beach’s hospitality landscape, not only creating a space for active enjoyment and living in the moment, but also serene relaxation. With this in mind, the Goodtime Hotel builds the perfect bridge where indulgence and a tranquil retreat converge, offering a lush, all-encompassing tropical escape–all the factors to a successful stay in Miami.
In Miami the water is warm, and The Goodtime Hotel is even hotter. Plan your stay here.
