I feel joy most acutely in my chest, radiating from the center. It appears as flutters, or like a pleasant kind of palpitations. I think I hold my breath a little, take the feeling in, and my face usually reacts with smiles, a laughter that sounds so childlike, and often I’m near tears. When you feel joy things just happen so naturally so beautifully you can’t hold it back nor can you hide it! I even appreciate having to think about joy right now. It’s making me warm and joyful just from recalling it.
