Bvlgari has unveiled Bvlgari Kaleidos: Colors, Cultures, and Crafts at the National Art Center, Tokyo—its most expansive presentation in Japan and the first in a decade. Opening on September 16, 2025, the exhibition features nearly 350 works of jewelry and contemporary art from the Bvlgari Heritage Collection and beyond, celebrating color as a unifying force and highlighting the deep cultural ties between Italy and Japan.
The exhibition’s title—drawn from the Greek kalos (beautiful) and eidos (form)—signals an ever-shifting journey through color. Curated as three immersive chapters—The Science of Color, Color Symbolism, and The Power of Light—the show presents historic Bvlgari treasures alongside contemporary art. Highlights include the legendary Seven Wonders emerald necklace, bold 1960s sautoirs, and early designs by founder Sotirio Bulgari, displayed alongside new commissions from artists Lara Favaretto, Mariko Mori, and Akiko Nakayama.
Color is both a visual phenomenon and an emotional language, carrying cultural and personal meaning shaped by tradition, identity, and experience. Bvlgari’s creations show how color can communicate emotion, imagination, and artistry with deliberate nuance. Light completes the journey, revealing the brilliance of gemstones and precious metals. Through immersive installations, interactive displays, and video presentations, the exhibition guides visitors on a fully sensory exploration of Bvlgari’s mastery, creativity, and craftsmanship.
