For the first time in over twenty years, Los Angeles will again experience the craftsmanship and artistry of a meal prepared by Chef Masa Takayama. Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Peninsula Beverly Hills reflects on the tastes that have shaped its community, including the evolution of Japanese cuisine. In a residency with 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. seatings each night through September 20, Chef Masa brings a limited number of guests through an omakase, presenting flavors that have defined his career and Japanese fine dining in America.

After arriving in LA from Japan, Chef Masa opened his own restaurant, Ginzo Sushiko, in Beverly Hills, where he presented omakase meals with high-quality ingredients to garner a reputation in fine dining. Following the closure of Ginzo Sushiko, Chef Masa developed refined Japanese dishes for American consumption at his eponymous New York restaurant. Earning three Michelin stars there, he secured his legacy within Japanese fine dining. Returning now to Beverly Hills, Chef Masa personally guides diners through a meal entirely designed by him, exploring his career and heritage with precision and intention.

Although both hosts have been integral to the history of Beverly Hills, this collaboration offers a brand new experience for hotel guests, built from long-lasting respect. With deep foundations in hospitality and devotion to service, the Peninsula and Chef Masa’s partnership is a natural extension to their backgrounds. From this relationship, the Peninsula harbors insight into the future for Beverly Hills, molded by Chef Masa’s experience and taste.
