Amid a world in constant flux and an endless stream of headlines, German house Montblanc and filmmaker Roman Coppola urge us to slow down, cherish intimate moments, and savor the joy of writing. Their latest collaboration, “Postcards from Italy,” is a short film that captures the sunlit impressions of a group of friends savoring a leisurely summer day.

Shot at Palazzo Margherita, the Coppola family’s 19th-century residence in southern Italy, the film features Daniel Brühl, Kiernan Shipka, Cooper Koch, and Dree Hemingway. The film follows the group as they lounge languidly poolside, indulge in gelato, and bask in each other's company—each friend inevitably is drawn to write.

The Meisterstück fountain pen, shown in classic black as well as in new white and burgundy red colourways, accompanies the cast as they compose at desks, sketch, and even doodle on one another. Coppola described these as “real moments we documented,” resulting in a series of cinematic postcards that recall the pleasures of intimacy and inspire us to preserve memories on paper. Montblanc’s Spring/Summer 2026 leather collection—featuring the Envelope Clutch, Tote, and suede Backpack—appears throughout the film.

With this collaboration, Montblanc reaffirms that meaningful stories are best written and shared with our most intimate confidantes. “Postcards from Italy” is more than a short film; it’s an invitation to rediscover the luxury of leisure and to capture fleeting moments in ink.
