It’s that all too familiar feeling of slowly rising for the day—or winding down for the night. The light is dim, the breeze is cool, the covers are almost affectionately warm, and life feels infinite and contained all at the same time. Perhaps the most joyous moments can take place right where you sit: in the bed and in the home.

The Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2026 womenswear collection unfurled in the once-summer apartment of Queen Anne of Austria, Queen of France, in a lush display of the art and joys of life itself. The collection relishes in the transcendental liberation that can be found indoors, and in the home.

The apartment, now housed in the musée du Louvre, is adorned with the typical royal 18th-century fashion of golden opulence and cherub paintings dancing across the ceiling. The scene, designed by Marie-Anne Derville, features furnishings from across time and space, all the way to the contemporary era, creating a representation of the apartment from the 1700s to the present. Cate Blanchett recited the lyrics to the Talking Heads’ “This Must Be the Place”, in a musical composition by Tangua Destable

And in fact, it was the place. Indoors, sheltered from outside critique or injury, expression is limitless. The collection plays on the ingenuity that this insulation creates, challenging the traditional conceptions of what an “indoor” wardrobe is and should be.

A star-studded guest list, which included Emma Stone, Zendaya, Ana de Armas, Léa Seydoux, Jennifer Connelly, Sophie Turner, Jaden Smith, Shay Mitchell, Chase Infiniti, Phoebe Dynevor, and more bore witness to the intimate display.
