Central Park’s famed Mall and Literary Walk invokes all of life’s necessary, heart-warming feels. Picture this: it’s a crisp, November afternoon. You’ve decided to grab a piping hot cappuccino and walk through the saffron-painted oasis for some R&R. Fastened in your best rain boots, you prance through the promenade, stomping through puddles and stamped leaves without a care in the world. Spring, summer, winter, or fall, the majestic scene produces the same care-free feeling all year long. Although, the temperature of your chosen beverage might change. Highlighting one of the city’s most naturally enticing sights, JW Marriott Essex House New York recently announced the debut of the Promenade Suite, invoking relaxation and peace.

Having been a quintessential part of Midtown’s skyline since 1931, the Art Deco tower now features a fourth addition to its Central Park Suite Collection. Built on the 38th floor, the Promenade Suite showcases the park via oversized windows, producing breathtaking glimpses of Central Park and the city beyond. Regarding the suite’s debut, John Rieman, General Manager of JW Marriott Essex House New York, noted, “The Mall has served as a backdrop for culture, conversation and shared experiences. We wanted this suite to capture that spirit while offering the privacy, flexibility and extraordinary views today's luxury travelers increasingly seek.”

Beyond paying homage to the city’s iconic jungle, the suite offers patrons the opportunity to engage in another one of New York City’s favorite pastimes—gathering. The suite’s construction produces a unique flow fit for larger parties to spend time with one another. Built with an expansive parlor, an open kitchen, and a dining area, engaging in conversation and companionship could not be more natural than in the recently debuted Promenade Suite.

Apart from its unmistakable connection to the city’s famed park, the Promenade Suite also highlights other New York classics. Hues of deep green, burgundy, and reddish purple offer a subtle nod to the nearby Metropolitan Opera, while a Bang & Olufsen sound system crafts a creative connection to Lincoln Center. The artwork, curated by Ryan Art Advisory, furthers the suite’s connection to its atmosphere, with art by Scott VanderVoort and Brooklyn-based Tess Michalik producing sophisticated elegance with a modern twist.
Through adjoining rooms, the suite expands to a three-bedroom or four-bedroom capacity, and patrons can also inquire about booking the entirety of the 38th floor. In this way, Essex House New York seamlessly manufactures intimate spaces to gather, while offering luxurious views and experiences of its iconic surroundings.
