SoCal rock band [The Shelters](https://www.instagram.com/theshelters/) are back with an infectiously blues-y new track “Down The Line.” Josh Jove, who wrote and takes lead vocals on the song, explains, “Misery loves company. Sometimes it’s only the blues that bring us back to someone from our past. ‘Down The Line’ is a song about giving into the temptation to seek comfort in the familiar when you probably shouldn’t.”  “Down The Line” follows lead single from the upcoming new album “You’re Different” and the accompanying video. The trio, comprised of Chase Simpson, Josh Jove, and Sebastian Harris only make a brief appearance in the campy, mid-century video, that offers a twist reminiscent of [The Twilight Zone](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFhKp-xi2DY). Set in the fifties, the video recalls a time where TV was black and white, hair was worn high, and Jell-O was its own food group. Backed up by a modern, guitar heavy sound, “You’re Different” is perfectly complemented by its quirky visuals. Following their Tom Petty-produced debut, 2016’s _Rebel Heart_, The Shelters are gearing up to release their sophomore album _Jupiter Sidecar_ on September 20th via Warner Records. Though their mentor Petty is sadly not around to hear their new album, the band carried along his legacy throughout its creation. “We definitely have something to prove on this record,” says Simpson. “Obviously, we want to make Tommy proud. Even more so, we want to step out of his shadow and come into our own. We knew we had to do something exciting and different to carry on being The Shelters.” Check out the out-of-this-world video for “You’re Different,” new song “Down The Line,” and The Shelters’ upcoming tour dates below. * * * **UPCOMING TOUR DATES** 9/1 San Diego, CA Humphrey’s By The Bay 9/7 Santa Cruz, CA The Catalyst Atrium 9/8 Sacramento, CA Holy Diver 9/10 Berkeley, CA Cornerstone Berkeley 9/11 San Luis Obispo, CA SLO Brew Rock
