Shaikh is a lifestyle influencer in San Francisco. She makes a statement through her classy and unique sense of style. At 52 years of age, Sobia, a former model, advertiser, and handbag designer, is a force to reckon with in the fashion industry. Sobia is a digital influencer through her blogging site and runs her own social media marketing business. “I launched my blog as an aim to showcase and share with my followers about my lifestyle, events, fashion, decor, travel, beauty, and other aesthetically pleasing aspects of my life. It has now rapidly turned into a business as people have started viewing me as an influencer”, says Sobia. The lifestyle influencer says she has never taken her audience for granted. Sobia enjoys responding to her fans' DM’s or posts as they seek her opinions and advice as far as fashion and traveling are concerned. She notes that most of her Instagram followers regard her as a trendsetter with her exquisite sense of fashion. “If my followers are investing their time in following me and taking an interest in my feed, among a sea of other influencers’ posts and feeds, then I owe them kindness, respect, and honesty.” Sobia is an open-minded designer and loves sharing her fashion, lifestyle, and beauty treatments, such as Botox, fillers, laser, and cool tone treatments. Sobia has been included in Fashion Weeks in New York and Paris, a role she appreciates for boosting her as an international lifestyle influencer. She has worked with several brands and businesses, such as Valentino’s American Diary Campaign, the launch of Qatar Airways in San Francisco, and the introduction of The Pink Pineapple for Del Monte. Sobai is also one of the influencers to introduce Lash Blast Mascara by CoverGirl. Through her partnerships, she shares a detailed and spectacular perspective of the fashion and design industry based on her successful careers in modeling, advertising, and entrepreneurship. Sobia A. Shaikh began her fashion career in Pakistan where she was born and raised. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising graduate then got an opportunity to work for six years at Young and Rubicam, an advertising agency. She also worked as a fashion model, did runways briefly, but focused on editorial and television commercials. Soon after, she moved to San Francisco with her husband, and began her fashion entrepreneur career by launching “Rhung,” a custom clothing line drawn from her Pakistani culture. She later started a handbag line, ISLY Handbags, which saw her trendy handbags featured in boutiques and stores across the country. They also featured in publications, such as The New York Times, InStyle, People, C Magazine, PopSugar, SFGATE, and many others. Sobia believes that she is actively involved in giving back to society. She volunteers most of her time fundraising for several non-profits. Currently, she is a board member for UNICEF USA North West Region. She also co-chairs the nationwide UNICEF @75 celebration expected to take place in November 2021. As a parting shot, Sobia had this to say, “I’m direct to the point of bluntness, cannot stand fake people and fake friendships. I always try to speak my mind. As a result, I can end up saying things that make people uncomfortable, which is usually not my intention.”
