People look up to them because they desire their achievements or the kind of life they have lived. Drawing inspiration from someone means being mentally stimulated to do or feel something. Ranking in the list of inspiring personalities is Jordan Collins, an athlete, and mentor who never gave up despite being put down by fate. Jordan Collins’ story serves as a great inspiration for people who tend to give up easily, even on the smallest inconvenience. His spirit and his strength teach people that nothing is impossible if one is determined to the core. Collins is a professional sports performance specialist and independent contractor at DBC Fitness in Miami. Having suffered from an injury previously, he specializes in injury prevention, return to play, and movement therapy. His objective in life is to train young athletes as a mentor and inculcate in them the idea of prioritizing their health first and teach them tips and techniques to avoid injury. **Reuse the Past. Recycle the Present.** The past is always for people to remember and learn. One of the main reasons people remember is that the human mind works like a defense mechanism. It stores memories only to reuse and recall when needed. Similarly, the past should also be used to learn and not to repeat the same mistakes. Unfortunately, the majority use their memories to sadden themselves, which eventually demotivates them and lowers their confidence to do something. Due to this reason, Jordan Collins’ story is the perfect inspiration for those who tend to take their past in a negative way.  Jordan Collins grew up with a passion for sports. He spent his childhood in Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and later relocated to Columbus at the age of ten. He spent a major chunk of his childhood playing different kinds of sports such as hockey, soccer, and martial arts. His love for sports intensified as he matured and decided to build a career in this field. He started off early and began playing in high school tournaments and matches. Collins had the spirit of a sportsman. He enjoyed the feeling of being exhausted after a rewarding match and took pride in his talent to play well each time.  As Collins was an exceptional player, he was trained by John Davies, one of the best coaches, and sports performance consultants in his opinion. He mentored him at the age of fifteen. After learning from Davies, the young sports fanatic, he began playing professionally and became a high-level player in a short time. He then graduated from Auburn University with a Master’s degree in Biomechanics and Human Movement. Collins served as a research assistant for DMC diagnostics and coached at the Brookstone school before joining DBC. He also served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Team USA handball, Fitness Director at the Columbus Country Club. In 2006, when Jordan was at the peak of his career, he suffered an injury that changed his entire career planning. Jordan suffered from a fracture and nerve damage in his lower back. This injury hindered his sports activities, so he had to give up his career. But he did not allow this incident to take over his life. He picked himself up, realigned his career goals, and went back to sports again. Although he had been injured, Jordan did not let his years of playing and experience go astray. He decided to use his experience and become a mentor.  Today, Jordan Collins is a name associated with professional athlete development. Trained under industry veterans Lance Kelley and Bill Jones, he transformed into a skilled trainer. Being in the industry for more than a decade, Jordan picked up tons of tips and tricks from his mentors and colleagues and plenty of personal experience to teach his students from. Other than this, he also trained himself and earned various certifications such as DBC Level One, CSCS, FMS, and TMR certifications. Hard work and consistency always pay off, and it did in Jordan’s case too. After training hard tirelessly, he finally achieved his goals. He is known in his circle as a movement specialist and focuses on injury prevention and return to play protocols. Collins has a heavy background in manual stretch therapy, trigger point therapy, and a varying degree of mobility work (heavily focusing on the spine). His story is worth knowing and can, in many ways, motivate and encourage people to never settle for less and always strive for more.
