Known for its palatial exterior and storied encounters with English royalty, it’s no surprise that The Midland has thrived as a desirable stay in Manchester’s City Centre for over a hundred and twenty years. The hotel’s present-day atmosphere maintains an impressive balance between contemporary elegance and historic glamour, embodying the vibrant character of the city itself. Stepping inside the fabled doors of The Midland’s lobby is only the beginning of what is certain to be an immersive stay, full of luxuriant amenities and exemplary hospitality. Enjoy a quintessentially English afternoon in the Tea Room, appetizers and cocktails at the Champagne Bar, fine dining at The French, and tranquil treatments at the hotel’s award-winning Rena Spa.

The hotel is equipped with 312 rooms and suites, which have been recently updated and designed for modern comfort. These spaces are readied with trendy, sleek furnishings in neutral tones which promote a minimalist aesthetic, allowing space for simplicity and rest. Beyond the bedrooms, The Midland offers eleven versatile event and meeting spaces, ranging in size to accommodate parties of up to 700 guests. These extensive facilities make the hotel a popular wedding destination, as well as a unique space for hosting lively social events and ceremonies. Additional exclusive features include the Rena Spa’s serene Thermal Suite and the hotel’s state-of-the-art gym, fully staffed with trainers and health experts prepared to guide guests towards their physical wellbeing goals.

As a compliment to The Midland’s longstanding presence, the historic Mount Street Dining Room & Bar reopens its doors this month, offering a freshly conceived menu representing classic British cuisine. Originally established alongside the hotel in 1903, the restaurant was initially known as the Grill Room, and was designed to accommodate Manchester’s railway travelers and locals alike. Notably, the Grill Room was the famous meeting place for Charles Rolls and Henry Royce’s fated luncheon, which ultimately built the partnership that would become Rolls-Royce. Following The Midland’s £14 million dollar renovation in 2020, the dining establishment reopened under its current name, with an interior transformed to evoke its railway heritage and Art Deco roots. Mount Street’s grand re-opening features a brand new menu devoted to serving locally sourced produce and refined British fare: white onion soup, smoked salmon, and slow cooked beef daube with garlic mash, while rice pudding and Anise glazed pears appear as decadent deserts. The reinvention of this iconic eatery is sure to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, attracting a new generation of illustrious guests.
