Hosted in Paris, the long-time fashion house, Saint Laurent, debuted its Summer 2026 Menswear Collection. Designed by Anthony Vaccarello, the brand’s creative director, he draws inspiration from past artists and a forgotten time when the sensuality of one’s clothing was highlighted in the details they did not reveal. Paying homage to past artists such as Larry Stanton, Patrick Angus, and Darrel Ellis, Vaccarello mentions that this collection coincides with the “silent desires” that these artists portrayed.
Debuting this collection in the museum Bourse de Commerce, surrounding the art installation, Clinamen, is to show the simplicity and softness that Saint Laurent encourages with this Summer collection. Designed by Céleste Boursier-Mougenot, the installation consists of a large basin with porcelain bowls floating within, colliding together to evoke a sudden yet pleasant tune, celebrating the artistic nature of unpredictability. Perfectly placed in conjunction with the soft palette of the collection, Vaccarello handpicked this setting to highlight the collection in the full exposure of the afternoon light.
This menswear line is flooded with jewel tones that apply a vintage filter, pushing the audience to immerse themselves in a far-away time. The warm color palette offers a refreshing airiness to typical menswear and suggests a certain transparency and vulnerability within the pieces. The classically tailored pants are the staple throughout this collection as they are incorporated in various colors to match each piece. The only exception to this is the similarly fitted shorts, offering versatility for the change of seasons.
