The Detroit-based experimental, non-commercial arts space [Red Bull Arts Detroit](http://redbullarts.com/detroit/) is presenting its inaugural curatorial fellow exhibition curated by curatorial fellow [Taraneh Fazeli](http://redbullarts.com/detroit/artists/taraneh-fazeli/), _Slick Time, Sleepy Time, Crip Time: Against Capitalism’s Temporal Bullying_. The exhibition will showcase works from Ava Ansari + Poetic Societies, Wayne Curtis, Black Power Naps (Navild Acosta and Fannie Sosa), Fia Backström, Cassie Thornton, Sondra Perry, and many more. The exhibition examines notions of repair and relief by showcasing the “body,” and its various stages of illness and/or healing. Through this lens, these works delve further into different methods of support, and what that looks like within our society. It prods us with the question: How are we taking care of each other today? One of the works featured is _The Waiting Room_, an installation that mirrors the waiting rooms we often find ourselves in when at the doctor’s office. The installation features three commissions by Ava Ansari + Poetic Societies, Wayne Curtis, and Cassie Thornton, as well as including texts on radial care and health by The Black Panthers, Berlin Feminist Healthcare Group (FHCRG), The Young Women’s Empowerment Project, and many more. Taraneh Fazeli partnered with [Detroit Disability Power](https://www.detroitdisabilitypower.org), [ProjectArt](https://www.projectart.org), and [RIP Medical Debt](https://www.ripmedicaldebt.org) for this exhibition, organizations that actively work to make medical help become an easily attainable reality. * * * The exhibition is on view starting from today, September 18, until November 3, 2019. There will be an opening reception tonight 5-9pm at Red Bull Arts Detroit.
