Subtlety has always been more intriguing than spectacle. Small details that gradually reveal themselves assert a quiet dominance, emitting a seductive aura that piques curiosity. The glimmer of a bezel beneath a cuff, the reflective gleam of a polished steel bracelet under candlelight, and the added sophistication and pulse that a horological marvel conveys. Expanding on this for contemporary times, Swiss watchmaker OMEGA introduces new offerings to its Speedmaster 38mm collection.

Presenting seven new references, the maison refines proportions and sharpens the aesthetic language for a range of timepieces that share visual codes with its notable Moonwatch chronograph counterpart. The result is a set of watches that are familiar yet newly composed, with their elegant execution and versatility, subdials transitioning from oval to round, lending a smarter presence. Additionally, a thicker bezel profile—borrowed from the Moonwatch—accompanies a dial with less wording, positioning these new iterations of the Speedmaster 38mm as sportier companions.

Two self-winding Co-Axial movements power the new models. OMEGA’s Co-Axial Calibre 3330 powers the six references without a date, while the black dial model, which features a date, is powered by Calibre 3332.

OMEGA intentionally showcases a luxurious range of materials and colors: lacquered black, blue ceramic, white enamel, opaline silver, mother-of-pearl, and accents in Sedna™ Gold and Moonshine™ Gold. Contrasting tones—the warmth of gold against cool steel and an ivory dial juxtaposed with brown PVD-coated subdials—invite for a closer look. Additionally, the watchmakers has added a regal luster to the collection with diamond-set bezels featuring 52 diamonds totaling 1.53 carats on either ice blue or mother-of-pearl dials.

Bracelets have also received updates, with the seven references now presented on a five-link Moonwatch-style bracelet. Depending on the model, the central links are polished or brushed, with selected styles incorporating 18K Moonshine™ Gold or 18K Sedna™ Gold links.

With a legacy rooted in historic achievements and space missions, the Speedmaster 38mm’s revamped details make a compelling argument. The seven new references do not strive to reinvent the traditional Speedmaster; instead, OMEGA has polished its visual codes, using familiar details already part of the maison’s broader design language. “The Speedmaster 38 mm has always taken its cues from the Moonwatch, while keeping size, colour, and simplicity in mind. With this latest update, we've taken the Moonwatch inspiration even further, helping to enrich the Speedmaster DNA while still retaining the refined and unique nature that the 38 mm range is known for," says OMEGA’s President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann. Selectively borrowing from a legendary chronograph, the Speedmaster 38mm is adorned differently, revealing a distinction that makes it appealing and singular—content with the excitement of life itself.
