The video first premiered at the Sundance Next Fest on Saturday before the screening of Justin Chon's Sundance Award winning film, "[Gook](http://www.flaunt.com/content/gook-film-la-riots)." Joey's video sets the tone for the film as they both explore similar themes of racism and police brutality. Joey Bada$$ and co-director Nathan R. Smith, managed to bring warm, summer Brooklyn vibes to a song that touches on heavy issues prevalent in the Black community. The video begins with scenes of kids having a good time and playing around the house, to outside the house, where Joey is hand-in-hand with a little girl strolling through the neighborhood. They soon arrive at a summer backyard kickback where Joey performs his song until the cops come by to shut it down. The video starts and ends inside of a church, where we hear 9-year-old Charlotte, North Carolina native, [Zianna Oliphant](https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=hdO6IqCAnaE), recite her speech in a council meeting days after [Keith Lamont Scott](http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/no-charges-killing-keith-lamont-scott-whose-police-encounter-was-n690126) died after being shot by a police officer. Joey is currently in the middle of touring the U.S. with Logic on his _Everybody_ tour. * * * Written by Kelly An
