K-Swiss x IGC | ONE-TAP
As the field of eSports continues to grow in legitimacy, so do the needs of its athletes. In response to the increasing demand for custom-designed garments, footwear brand K-Swiss and global eSports gaming organization Immortals Gaming Club (IGC) have teamed up to develop the first ever eSports performance shoe, the ONE-TAP. “For players to perform their best, they must look and feel their best,” said Barney Waters, President of K-Swiss. “In the eSports world, this is no exception as physical and psychological preparation breeds excellence in performance, exactly what the ONE-TAP offers.”
The launch, announced earlier today, features a limited-edition MIBR (IGC’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive brand) version of the ONE-TAP. The shoe includes the Brazilian eSports team’s black and silver colors and wordmark, as well as the Brazilian crest, which is featured on the sneaker’s foldable heel.
In order to create a shoe that would address specific performance concerns, K-Swiss shadowed IGC players to come up with an effective product. The brand’s research lead to a design which featured the comfort versatility, and temperature control necessary for eSports participants. As a result, the ONE-TAP includes a flexible mesh upper and elasticated closure, a convenient slip-on construction and foldable heel, and a lightweight cushioned EVA sole that allows for maximum breathability. “The ONE-TAP is the output of months of collaboration and prototyping and a genuine bottom-up approach to understand our players in and out of the game, and to design a product that would feel truly bespoke and original,” remarked IGC’s CEO, Ari Segal.“We're thrilled to finally be able to bring the ONE-TAP to market and look forward to delivering the first and best esports and gaming performance footwear product in the world to all players, starting with our MIBR brand.”
Limited quantities of the MIBR ONE-TAP are now available, with a retail price of $125 USD.
