After a three year hiatus, Los Angeles-based rock band [CRX](https://www.instagram.com/crxmusic/) lead by Nick Valensi, co-founder of The Strokes, makes a return with their music video for “Get Close”, a single off of their sophomore album, [Peek](https://stem.ffm.to/peek) which is set to be released on August 23rd. [Kansas Bowling](https://www.instagram.com/kansasbowling/), the filmmaker and actress who recently starred in _Once Upon a Time in Hollywood_, directed the music video which is inspired by the Jean Rollin vampire films of the 1970s.  CRX was formed in 2016 by Nick Valensi (lead vocals, guitar), Darian Zahedi (guitar, backing vocals), Jon Safley (bass, backing vocals), and Ralph Alexander (drums). The group places a heavy emphasis on friendship, co-writing all of the music and lyrics on the album as a unit. “For us, the album defines what’s been happening in our lives, our perspective, and who we are”. Both “Get Close” and _Peek_ reflect a hybrid of new wave, post-punk, and metallic funk. CRX created a unique style of their own by bonding over music and spending a lot of time in the studio together.  CRX by Brandon Harman ![CRX by Brandon Harman](https://assets-global.website-files.com/62ee0bbe0c783a903ecc0ddb/6472b928fb550ed396819ae0_Flaunt%2BCRX%2BJalyn%2BEaton.jpeg) CRX by Brandon Harman “Get Close” is a record that can only be described as “hypnotic as fuck” with a video to match its oddly mesmerizing sound.
