For the [Christian Wijnants](http://christianwijnants.com)’ Fall/Winter 2021 collection, the designer was given unique access to the Antwerp Royal Museum of Fine Arts, a cherished source of inspiration for the designer who visited the museum at the take off of his career. The silhouettes in the collection are marked by volume and exaggeration, designed to fill the oversized rooms. Cacoon coats are designed to appear as though they are cut out of woolen blankets; heavy wool fabric is draped into skirts and swept by fringe; knitwear brings in a Bicolor Plissé dress and the ottoman stitch, utilized as stripes. Floral patterns mimic an ancient tapestry, overdyed and overlarge. Stripes are inspired by the chevron wood floors throughout the museum, while colors are strategically selected to reflect the feeling of exploring the various rooms. The collection consists of a palette of cooler hues such as antique pink, mint, fresh lime, and pistachio, paired with warmer tones such as emerald, bronze and rust.
