Most stories exist on paper or on screen, but this one writes itself in realtime: JFI Productions presents The Willows, an immersive theatrical experience of an intimate family dinner gone awry. First debuting in the spring of 2017 and later returning as a Halloween spectacle, the production has been reinvented in all capacities and returns to Los Angeles as a sinister anomaly of live performance.
The experience takes place in the decrepitly eerie Beckett Mansion, a Colonial Revival space in the city's Adams-Normandie area. Described as a "psychological drama,” it places guests in the center of a gripping mystery with seemingly no way out, but through, as different narratives unfold in each room over the course of two hours.
The Willows, which sold out in 2023 and 2024, exists at the intersection of theatre and performance art. It's 2025 iteration sets a high precedent for the future of live entertainment. It allows people to not only feel a part of the story, but be a part of the story, as haunting and unexpected as it may be. And with only 24 guests in attendance for each performance, the intimacy of the experience makes it that much more ominous, yet unique.
JFI Productions founders Justin Fix and J.T. Swierczek said in a statement: "For nine years, we have consistently sold out our flagship show, Creep LA, so it was only right that we commemorate our 10th season with the return of The Willows, one of the most requested tickets in Los Angeles...JFI fans have come to expect premium content that’s equal parts cerebral, shocking, seductive, and, of course, creepy. We engage and satisfy the desire for experiences that transport audiences to an imagined universe, pushing them out of their comfort zone, even if only for an evening. The Willows achieves that. This show's design allows the story to evolve moment-by-moment, making each performance a singular, emotionally resonant experience.”
