A classic summer night embraces the tardiness of the sunset, welcomes a touch of spontaneity, and almost always includes good company. Take it Outside is reinventing summer parties with a particular emphasis on the outdoor part.
UK disk jockey DJ Harvey brings his signature sound back to Los Angeles for Take it Outside, a three-party series beginning August 5 and continuing until the end of September. A pioneer of the US garage and house music in the United Kingdom club scene, DJ Harvey's name has gone worldwide—proven by how fast Take it Outside sells out.
DJ Harvey shares, "The metropolis of Los Angeles is good and bad on a monumental scale. This weekend I’m going to be contributing to the good bit. Along with the TIO party crew, La Plaza, our dancers and pop up vendors we’ll make a Midsummer nights outdoor party dream come true for all you lovely party people. My trigger finger is itching having not played for a few weeks and I can’t wait"
With a promise of “FANCY TOILETS” and a “FULL BAR,” Take it Outside is more than just a party, but a celebration of community, music, and the outdoors.
The next installation to the series is September 9 and will be headlined by Gerd Janson, a German DJ specializing in house and disco tracks. Starting at 5 p.m., LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes will be full of clothing and food vendors as well as the sounds of various DJs before Janson takes the stage. Anticipation for Janson couldn't be higher: The event series has long sought after him for top billing, noting his high fan demand.
Emphasizing “STRONG FEMME FORCE,” all DJs and hosts excluding Janson are women. Tottie and Spiñorita are in charge of spinning while Heidi Lawden and Masha Mar keep the party going as hosts of the event and spinning B2B.
The series of parties rounds out on September 29 at El Cid, headlined by rising UK DJ Anz making her Los Angeles debut. Come enjoy the rhythms and mixes of these gifted DJs. Take it outside, and party past sundown.
