At the heart of the Sunset Strip, Studio 54 Co-founder Ian Schrager has unveiled PUBLIC West Hollywood. The 137-key property, designed by British architect John Pawson, is the latest addition to a decades-long legacy of inventive design and effortless luxury.

PUBLIC West Hollywood offers a slice of quintessential Southern California; seventy-five percent of the hotel’s public space is outdoors, inviting guests to lounge in the sun and soak up the stars.

The evening began at the property’s rooftop terrace – 16 thousand square feet of panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills, Downtown LA, and the LA basin. Partygoers sipped on eclectic cocktails and enjoyed a dinner service crafted by LA-based Gjelina Group, Gjusta Bakery, and Pijja Palace. R&B artist Zsela kicked off the night's performances, serenading guests with silky vocals.

Downstairs, the party marched on at the pool deck, ornate with lush jasmine arches, California flowers, and potted strawberry trees. DJ Isabella Massenet had guests dancing on limestone tile before Tinashe gave a surprise poolside performance. The “Melatonin” singer dazzled the crowd in a mirrored beaded bodysuit and a long fur coat, but despite embodying the Popstar look (completed with chrome-rimmed glasses!), Tinashe performed older favorites: “Nasty Girl,” “2 On”, and “No Broke Boys.” Tinashe said her goodbyes and Mia Moretti took the decks, spinning her signature disco-driven house.

At the end of the night, those with the right key – a PUBLIC poker chip – were granted entry into the Studio, the hotel’s private speakeasy club. The Studio envelops guests in an immersive, monochrome black. Every installment carries an air of luxury, from the rococo velvet curtains to the silk rugs to the ponyhair and bronze seating. Guests who made it in enjoyed a secret performance by Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

PUBLIC’s evening of dining and dance offered just a glimpse of what’s to come. Now open for bookings, the West Hollywood hotel is a respite from Los Angeles, without losing the spirit of the city itself.
