Xeno and Oaklander Release "Angélique"

by Paulette Ely

Xeno and Oaklander, New York’s proclaimed “electro-minimalists" are really quite maximal in terms of musical magnificence. Sean McBride and Liz Wendelbo have been the faces and brains behind this synth spectacularity since 2004, and they have not looked back since. With an emphasis on art beyond the music, the band’s newest album “Hypnos” will channel visual art and a step toward polyphony for a cinematic sensation. Hypnos will be released on March 8, but lucky for us they left us all a little preview with their single,“Angélique,” an ode to nature and flowers that grow wild around us. Connecting ideals of human existence to blooming blossoms, all tied together with an electronic tune is what Xeno and Oaklander embody at their core.
