We were wrong. [Wonderfront](https://wonderfrontfestival.com) is a thing of its own caliber, with big acts like Migos, Tyga, and MGMT, up and comers like Japanese Breakfast and Grace Vanderwaal and classics like Nancy Wilson of Heart and Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, X and Suicidal Tendencies, and the Rebirth Brass Band all the way from New Orleans.  Lots of great music to see with female vocalists and musicians representing and performers of all races were there- awesome representation. There were tons of acts over seven stages. All of this music coursing over the water waves, with seagulls flying over top and sailboats in the background- who could say no? Wait, there’s more-- there was an air show, Tony Hawk with his skaters and bmx bikers were on hand too. On top of all this free water taxis were on hand to take guests to various points of interests. There was even an art center where you could make your own origami and sit on a neon squid couch.  There were several party yachts on hand for festival goers, complete with DJs. This was the inaugural year of the festival put on by The City of San Diego and folks like Mike Hanley blows the rest out of the water. We’re really looking forward to what they do for 2020! * * * Photographed and video by Thuc Nguyen & Jammy Smeers
