With this latest movement, ETRO’s menswear line labels its items, BENETROSSERE and all pieces originate from the research of alternative fabric and new modes of creation, and this year, the brand has created a down jacket made entirely of materials from recycled plastic bottles Etro says it best, “The life of a garment starts with the fibers, the materials, the process, the hands that create it. Sustainability is not a slogan: it’s a story,it’s a commitment,” and what better way to show this story then with a 120 PET bottles fabricated to create the first ever, #ForTheOceans down jacket. The jacket’s New Life Yarn is 100% certified and made in Italy polyester thread, saving 32% of CO2 emissions, 94% of water, and 60% of electric power compared to any virgin polyester polymer. from the fabric to the label this jacket is 100% sustainable and resistant to the alternative use of goose down. * * * Photos courtesy of Etro
