Glamboy bringing the heat like it’s Bali
While the black bodysuit and mesmerizing floral cape, including inscribed lining, worn to the 2019 Junos (aka the Canadian Grammys) by Indigenous performer [Jeremy Dutcher](https://www.refinery29.com/en-ca/2019/03/227284/junos-best-dressed-jeremy-dutcher) may have won the day as far as mind-blowing fashion is concerned, the boys from [88Glam](https://open.spotify.com/artist/2I9SLklAOG0vdMiUUMNxRl) made their own splash, rocking a style more suited to their personalities. That meant a Slipknot tee, a decent amount of black, as well as denim and puffer jackets.

While enjoying the festivities in London, Ontario, they also had the chance to throw down at the side stage, with the crowd clearly digging their energy. It’s a world they’re familiar with. Derek Wise and 88 Camino used to be in the Get Home Safe Crew with Jazz Cartier, who won best rap album in 2017. The founder of the record label they’re signed to, the Weeknd, went into the awards show with the second-highest assortment of nominations.

For the second time in a row the Drake didn't submit his most recent album for consideration, representing an ongoing feud with the Junos. In 2011 Drake went home empty handed from the Junos, despite performing at the event.

That meant artists like 88Glam had a golden moment to shine. They’ve made waves with their platinum record Bali, featuring NAV and 2 Chainz. Nav, you may remember, contributed production to Drake's Meek Mill diss "Back to Back.”

88Glam was up for Rap Recording of the Year, going head to head with Belly, Killy, NAV and Tory Lanez. And they were selected as the final contenders for Breakthrough Group of the Year, alongside Dizzy, Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, Loud Luxury and the Washboard Union. It was Reloaded, the deluxe re-release of their 2017 mixtape that scored 88Glam the rap nod by the Juno voters.

While they may have lost out to Tory Lanez in the rap category and the Washboard Union for breakthrough group, they still enjoyed making an impression.
